Blue chip companies visit Palmer’s College


NOVEMBER has been a busy month for Palmer’s College. This month has seen the College welcome visitors from three large international organisations to speak to their students about their companies and the opportunities for employment and career progression available to them.

Ernst & Young were the first of three prestigious companies to visit the College. EY is a multinational professional services firm headquartered in London, one of the “Big Four” professional service firms. EY were promoting their College Leaver Programme which is an excellent alternative to university for any student seeking a career in the financial services industry through a structured and sponsored programme whilst having the opportunity to earn a great salary along the way to being qualified.

King & Wood Mallesons are an international legal service firm who visit Palmer’s College every year to hold a recruitment day for CILEx students for their 2 week work experience programme each February. Over 10% of the legal secretarial work force for this company are ex-Palmer’s students.

Berwin Leighton Paisner are a top international law firm based on London Bridge who specialize in commercial and civil legal services. Students were given the chance to find out about the many career opportunities available at the firm including entry positions as legal admin assistants. They also received advice and guidance on writing CVs and interview skills and a number of students undertook practice interviews with BLP staff who provided them with valuable feedback.

Linda Jones, Employment Engagement Manager at Palmer’s College, said: “This was a great chance for our students to find out more about the many opportunities available to them and we are delighted to continue to develop our long standing working relationships with these prestigious companies.”
