Thurrock Council on look out for legal eagles

THURROCK Council is on the lookout for legal eagles seeking work experience in an exciting and dynamic legal team.

The shared legal service team between Thurrock and Barking & Dagenham councils, are offering a place on their legal placements programme.

The scheme is aimed principally at law or legal practice course graduates who wish to acquire practical and hands-on skills to aid their search for a permanent position and progress their legal career.

The joint legal service has 60 lawyers specialising in criminal, civil, employment and commercial litigation; child and adult protection, education, planning, major regeneration schemes, housing, environment, highways, property, licensing, contracts, procurement and corporate governance law.

The Thurrock/Barking & Dagenham shared service now provides services to Brentwood Council, the three month placement would be based at one of the three offices in Dagenham, Grays or Brentwood.

Portfolio Holder for Finance and Legal at Thurrock Council, Cllr Shane Hebb, said: “As a borough which encourages aspiration among all communities, I heartily recommend students who seek real-life experience to work with our shared Legal teams.

“We have a long-established training programme going back to 2006 which so far has always led to employment opportunities for those who take part.
