TOWIE stars hit the ice at intu Lakeside

REALITY stars Lydia Bright and Georgia Konsoulou, from The Only Way is Essex, made a surprise visit to intu Lakeside for an ice skating spectacle, followed by a meet and greet with fans.

The duo performed a 15-minute ice skating routine alongside two specially crafted bird puppets, as seen in the intu Christmas advert: http://intu.co.uk/christmas/ad. Fans then had the chance to meet Lydia and Georgia.

intu’s Christmas campaign features seven specially crafted bird puppets, with each bird representing the seven different types of shoppers. The birds include The Window Shopper (swan), The Me Me Me Shopper (flamingo), The Over Excited Shopper (peacock), The Bargain Hunter Shopper (hawk), The Wise Shopper (owl), The Last Minute Panic Shopper (chicken) and The Big Day Out Shopper (duck).

Both stars picked a bird which most resembled their festive shopping habits – Lydia compared herself to a swan and Georgia a flamingo.

Lydia Bright said: “I’m definitely a swan – when shopping for Christmas presents I prefer to take my time, looking in each shop to make sure that I buy the right gifts for everyone.”

Georgia Kousoulou added: “I love Christmas shopping, especially when I’m buying gifts for myself or my new Christmas outfits so I can look fabulous over the festive season – so I’m most like a flamingo!”

Roger Binks, customer experience director at intu, said: “We were delighted to welcome Lydia and Georgia to intu Lakeside, as they showed off their ice skating skills for Christmas shoppers, alongside our beautiful birds.

“With late night shopping, gifts galore, festive fun and thousands of retailers to choose from, we’ve got plenty to make our customers smile about when doing their Christmas shopping this year.”
