Quarry Hill produce astonishing result in SATS exams

ACCORDING to the new government guidelines, every single primary school in Thurrock, bar four, has under-performed in the most recent rounds of SATS exams.

Schools are considered under-performing if fewer than 65 per cent of pupils fail to reach the expected standard in reading, writing and maths, or if they fail to make sufficient progress in these three key areas.

Some believe that the government have “moved the goalposts” but others believe that would do a dis-service to schools such as Quarry Hill in Grays.

Quarry Hill’s mark of 90% is testament to one of the education stories of the year. The Bradleigh Avenue school has done remarkably well.
