IT IS still difficult to decide whether the plans for a new grammar school in Thurrock is all about a borough’s field of dreams or one councillor’s desire to one day be an MP?
Either way the portfolio holder for education is on a mission and this was underlined on Wednesday night when he presented a process report to the ruling Conservative cabinet.
What we did learn is that the council hope to build the Grammar School in an area of deprivation.
We did send a number of questions to the portfolio holder with the hope of gaining further insight into a number of the issues raised but he has not replied.
the school may be in a deprived area but the virtual front door will be in the middle of chavfull hundred.
