VOLUNTEERING could lead to a job in Tilbury says the councillor in charge of business in the borough.

The matter was discussed at a meeting of the Conservative led council cabinet.

The ten page document was titled the “Tilbury Community Led Development” and detailed how £10 million is available through a variety of funding streams.

The scheme hopes to create over 400 jobs and provide support for 75 businesses.

However, despite being little or no reference to volunteering in the documents available to view, the portfolio holder, cllr Mark Coxshall laid great stress on volunteering as being a key route to a job in Tilbury.

This was endorsed by the council leader, Rob Gledhill who told the meet that his son had found employment after volunteering in Tilbury.
