FATHER Christmas gave up his sleigh for a golf buggy and helping create an afternoon to remember for a local children’s charity.
Langdon Hills Golf & Country Club played host to an event for the youngsters who attend the Kids First school in Corringham and members, staff and supporters of the charity rallied round to make it a very special event.
The school and charity, which is affiliated to the Thurrock and District Cerebral Palsy Society. offers a lifeline of learning and respite care to youngsters from across the South Essex region.
Kids First has been supported by the golf club for some time now and the Christmas Party was the pinnacle of a year of fundraising by members.
Kids First supporter and golf club member Taffy Thomas said: “We are so grateful to the gold club, its members and its staff who once again have been superb. We also invited lots of children of members to come and join in the fun and thanks to the efforts of Jolly Dizzy the Clown, DJ Gary Fleming, Trevor the most amazing balloon artist and Donna Robertson and her wonderful photo-booth we created a whole host of special memories. Special thanks to, to former ladies captain Josie Williams and her husband Gary (our terrific Father Christmas) who helped pull everything together.
“It was a very special time and on behalf of the children and their families, thanks so much to everyone who helped.”
