SHOPPERS in Lakeside are set to benefit as a host of exciting fashion brands have become available at the Tesco store and, to celebrate, the store held a special community event when a cheque for £1,000 was presented to Little Haven Hospice.
Tesco Extra store manager, Darren Inglis also presented Quarry Hill Primary School with a £500 donation and hessian bags, which have been specially designed by one of their pupils Louise Rogers, who received a £25 Tesco gift card for producing the healthy eating design.
Following the ceremony, thousands of the hessian bags with the special design started to be given away to customers along with champagne, orange juice and celebration cake, to mark this special occasion.
Work to improve the shopper experience at the Tesco Extra store on Cygnet View in Lakeside, includes the addition of high street clothing brands Evans, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burtons following a partnership between Tesco and the Arcadia Group.
Store manager, Darren, said: “We are constantly looking at ways to enhance the customer experience and we hope the addition of these popular fashion brands will assist with this.
“First response from customers has been very positive and we would like to thank customers for their patience during the building work.
“We would also like to thank Peter Hall from Little Haven’s Hospice and teachers and pupils from Quarry Hill Academy for attending the event. We are delighted to be able to make financial donations to such important aspects of the local community.”
Tesco Customer Experience Manager, Jon Snelling, said; “The store felt that the addition of new fashion brands was something to celebrate with customers and we are delighted to have offered four lucky winners the opportunity to experience the full range of products we now have in the store, along with luxury transport and experts in beauty and fashion on hand to advise them.
The Tesco Extra store on Cygnet View is normally open 24 hours to midnight Saturday and 10am to 4pm on a Sunday.
