LANSDOWNE Primary Academy recently held a Year 1 Alien Day, designed to allow children to develop their phonic decoding in a fun and exciting way.
As well as having the opportunity to dress up as an alien, children completed a number of activities including creating an alien and writing about it, and then using their phonics to name their alien.
They had a great day and really enjoyed dressing up for the day. Parents & Carers were also given the opportunity to come along and enjoy a special workshop at the end of the day.
Class teacher, Miss Samantha Butler (pictured), said “The pupils looked absolutely great in their costumes. What a great way to help with their learning whilst having fun!”
