ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal RTC Corringham.
A black Mercedes E280 was in collision with a stationary lorry on the Southend-bound A13 at around 8.45pm yesterday (Wednesday, February 9).
Emergency services attended but the driver of the car, a man in his 40s from the Canvey area, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin has been informed.
The road was closed until around 3am.

A13 Essex – A13 Stanford-Le-Hope By-Pass closed and very slow traffic eastbound between Stanford-Le-Hope Turn Off and Five Bells Interchange, because of an accident involving two vehicles.
Essex Fire Crews were called to a road traffic collision between two vehicles at the Five Bells area of the A13 Southend bound.
Crews worked to make the scene safe by 00:54.
