LAST Sunday saw the Stanford Sirenettes take 19 girls to Maldon RFC for their first games of the season.
Unfortunately even though we took seven Under 13 girls, the opposition only had three girls so Stanford lent a couple of girls and played a small adapted game. This promising young group are now looking forward to being able to play together in their next game at Eton Manor in a few weeks time.
The Under 15 girls amazed all three coaches and supporters from both sides with their determination and effort for their first ever full pitch, full contact game.
This saw the girls adapting well, even learning how to form a scrum and play in actual positions five minutes before kick off. The girls took everything on board, listened well to their coaches, referee and each other and went into the game with beaming smiles!
In their first ever game, the girls scored not once, not twice, but three fantastic team tries, with brilliant passing and communication throughout.
This group of girls made their coaches and their parents proud to see all the hard work they have been putting in over these last few weeks…
Watch this space over as these girls are on the up!
