A SOUTH Ockendon nursery has been highly praised by government watchdog Ofsted after a recent inspection.
Headstart Nursery in Afton Drive, South Ockendon was inspected in early March.
The inspectors said:
1.The exceptional manager leads her staff team extremely well to deliver the highest standards of practice, so that all children make the best possible progress.
2.Teaching is inspirational. Staff are very well qualified and demonstrate an excellent knowledge and understanding of how children learn and develop. They use their knowledge of children’s abilities, interests and learning styles to plan a superb range of activities and high-quality learning opportunities.
3.The nursery has an exceptionally strong and caring ethos, and staff listen and value children and parents views, acting on what they say. The welcoming, family atmosphere in the nursery enables children to feel exceptionally secure and happy.
4.Partnerships with parents are outstanding. Parents are extremely happy to share their highly positive feedback about the nursery. Staff ensure parents are fully involved in their children’s learning. Information is continually shared with parents to encourage and support children’s learning at home. This contributes greatly to children’s success at the nursery.
5.Equality and diversity are supported very well by staff, who are extremely effective in providing an inclusive environment for all children. Staff encourage children to value and respect each other’s differences, and celebrate each other’s achievements.
6.Excellent self-evaluation means that the management team and staff are continually extending the service they provide for families and children.
