THURROCK’S Environment lead is encouraging residents to #LoveThurrock and enjoy the sights along the borough’s Thames coastline.
Cllr Pauline Tolson said: “Sometimes we forget about the natural beauty Thurrock has to offer and just one example is the Thames Estuary Path between Tilbury Fort and Coalhouse Fort.”
“I recently spoke to two cyclists who had travelled all the way from Romford and were surprised at all the points of interest along the route – including the two historic forts, pubs, the landing stage at Tilbury to see the ships arriving and the former Tilbury Power Station.
“Plus, there is the option to continue past East Tilbury all the way to Mucking – which boasts an RSPB reserve – via the path to the rear of Gobions Park.
“With summer approaching and plenty of refreshments available on the route, it really is a lovely day out.”
Next week at Coalhouse Fort sees an Easter egg hunt and egg rolling competition on Tuesday (11 April), as well as an egg-drop challenge on Thursday (13 April). Tickets are £5 and can be booked at thurrock.gov.uk/events
