Rugby: Rochford Hundred/Thurrock 7 v 5 Pulborough
ROCHFORD/Thurrock under-15 girls won the Area 3 Plate Final at Oak Field (Thurrock) last Sunday, beating Pulborough 7-5
The game was hard fought, with defences from both sides working hard. Rochford/ Thurrock cluster crossed the try line three times in the first half only to be disallowed as Pulborough kept it up by the back, then in the same half Pulborough scored.
Early in the second half Rochford / Thurrock was awarded a penalty try from Pulborough, after they collapsed a maul. This was converted (under great pressure) by Molly Ballard. The home cluster was in the lead. This was never relinquished due to an outstanding defensive effort by all.
