Car Seat checking day of action in Thurrock

Car Seat Checking in Thurrock

THURROCK Council’s Road Safety team took part in a child car seat checking day on Monday 27 March.

Car Checking

As part of the Safer Essex Road Partnership, the team checked whether residents’ child car seats were fitted correctly and did not have any faults.

A representative from Good Egg Safety was also on hand to provide specialist advice on seat and stage selection for children.

21 checks took place at the event kindly hosted by Tesco’s Extra in Lakeside Retail Park, with six checks identifying incorrect child fitments and 13 incorrect seat fitments.

Portfolio Holder for Highways and Transport, Cllr Brian Little, joined officers during the event. Speaking after, he said: “It is great that we are able to hold these events to advise residents on safety.

“These events are important to help families ensure their young ones are safe and secure while travelling.”
