The Crown to Crown Good Friday Fun Run
THE Crown to Crown Good Friday Fun Run attracted over 300 starters. Leon Wheeler, the X-C Leagues U-15 champion led the small Thurrock contingent.
He was 4th in 17.49. Brian Wong was an eye-opening 23rd in 19.43. This was an excellent debut for the year 10 Southend High School pupil. Gary Rowlatt was pleased with his 21.22 effort. Steve Ball also caught the eye with 22.13.
Two former Harriers did well. Alex Houghton was 2nd and Roy Aspinall, now a V55, recorded 21.57 which earned him 51st place.
Alpha Beta Trophy
THURROCK Harriers’ female athletes competed in the Alpha Beta Trophy which was held at Lee Valley on Sunday 9th April. With individual season and personal bests achieved the U15G team came third in the U15G competition and the Senior Women team came sixth.
