A wide range of council and community services are available at the newly-opened Purfleet Community Hub.
The grand opening on Wednesday 12 April was attended by the Leader of Thurrock Council, Cllr Rob Gledhill, and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Tunde Ojetola – who also judged a children’s fancy dress competition.
The day included a community clean up, supported by the Thurrock Council housing team. In addition, a skip was provided by the hub to help keep the area tidy.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Rob Gledhill, said: “This was my first visit to the Purfleet Hub and I am really impressed. As a former Garrison Estate resident I know residents will greatly benefit from the services provided.
“There is a great team of volunteers here to support local residents get on line, find local information or even choose a book from the library. I would encourage all residents to make a visit.”
The event was attended by families and residents from across Purfleet. One mum was particularly keen to thank the hub for the support they provide “I moved into the area last year, and I cannot thank the hub enough for helping me keep in touch with local events. I pass information on to other mums, so this is a great network – thank you!”
