
UKIP leader, Paul Nuttall, went on the campaign trail in Thurrock on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Nuttall joined his deputy and candidate for South Basildon and East Thurrock, Peter Whittle in Basildon for the launch of his campaign,
There, they were joined by activists including Thurrock councillors, Sue Sammons, Chris Baker and Jan Baker
Later on, Mr Whittle went on to social media to let followers know that he was in Thurrock with Mr Whittle to help the Thurrock candidate, Tim Aker.
BBC Essex reported that “No media were invited to join Mr Nuttall on the doorstep”.
Last week, Labour activists thought they had spotted Mr Nuttall in Grays but this was denied by UKIP.
