Leigh-on-Sea CC U15 69-10
Orsett & Thurrock CC U15 70-1
By Tyrone Owen
ORSETT & Thurrock travelled to Chalkwell Park, home of the unbeaten Leigh U15s in the SEDCB Cup semi-final and walked away with a trip to the final where they will face either Rayleigh or Rankins at Stanford on 23rd July.
O&T were in the ascendency from the off, with new ball pair Callum Owen and Ryan Tobin dismissing the top three with only 20 on the board. Owen and Tobin finished with two wickets apiece from their four over spells.
Change bowler Daniel Tagg picked up the wicket of Thurlow who was just starting to up the pace.
Spinner Tom Redman and Jack Churchyard came on to wrap up the tail and middle order with Leigh limping to 69 all out as Churchyard finished with 3-7 and Redman 2-5.
In reply, O&T lost opener Churchyard early with only 2 runs to the total. In came the explosive Brad Greene to join Jack Hart.
Hart was happy to knock the ball around for singles while Greene was firing the ball to all parts of Chalkwell Park in brutal fashion before reaching the 35 retirement mark.
The cool head of George Watson came in and nudged the ball around to see O&T over the line in fine fashion and into the final.
