Orsett & Thurrock won their second match in succession in convincing fashion at home to high-flying Billericay.

The hosts elected to bat first and made a great start as Umar Ayub (46) and Umaad Sultan (22) put on 76 for the first wicket.
Nawaz Ahmad Jan made a brisk 53 off 54 balls. But with the innings in the balance at 192-5, Kirk Laws, who smashed a vital 45 off just 27 balls, and Agha Tahir (24*) put on 57 crucial runs to put the home side in a commanding position at the tea interval.

In reply, the Orsett & Thurrock bowlers kept plugging away at the Billericay line-up and eventually got their rewards. Paul Bennett picked up four wickets, including the key scalps of opener Paul Martin (48) and Ross Poulton (39). The other wickets were shared around with Joe Mitchell and Shahid Kahn taking two apiece, while there was one each for Jan and Tahir.
