A gory Shakespearian tale, an unmissable theatre production and the newest instalments of a classic superhero animation are the headline events to be brought to the big screen by Vue Thurrock this August.

The line-up opens with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s adaptation of Titus Andronicus on Wednesday 9th August. It follows the violent scenes of a corrupt Rome which descends into rape, cannibalism and severed body parts after Titus relinquishes power. Blanche McIntyre returns to the RSC to direct Shakespeare’s brutal revenge tragedy after her debut directing The Two Noble Kinsmen (2016).

Later in the month, Billie Piper returns in her Evening Standard Best Actress award-winning role in Yerma. Directed by Simon Stone, this radical production follows a young woman as she is driven to the unthinkable by her desperate desire to have a child.
