FROM September, Thurrock Adult Community College is offering new IT and digital skills courses for the over-60s in addition to their qualification and courses for adult learners at their accessible Grays Adult Education Centre. The college believes that internet safety is just as important for senior citizens as it is for the younger generation and is offering a 3 hour ‘Online Safety for Senior Citizens’ workshop to teach over 60s the skills to stay safe online.
If you are a senior citizen or are concerned about a parent or grandparent, take a look at the new courses that have been specially designed to support over 60s with gaining sound basic knowledge when using modern devices and become familiar with basic skills needed for everyday life, including internet shopping and communicating with friends and relatives digitally. Three week courses include Teach Me About My Laptop, Smartphone and Tablet training and a more in-depth six week Computer Skills for Over 60s that also teaches you how to use word processing.
Don’t miss out on your course – enrolments are now open and places are limited. Drop in to enrol at the Grays Adult Education Centre, Richmond Road, RM17 6DN or call Freephone 0800 783 7733 or 01375 372476 – you’re never too old to start a new learning journey!
