FORMER Thurrock T-Bird Emily Scott is set to miss the Women’s Rugby World Cup through injury.

The fly-half had been hoping to help England defend their world crown in competition which gets underway in Ireland.

Emily Scott went on Twitter to express her disappointment.

She said: “I’m absolutely gutted to be injured at such a late stage.

“Thank you for all your messages.

“I’ll be staying positive and rehabbing hard but I couldn’t have been on the journey with this bunch.

“Go out there and bring it home girls.

“I’m backing you all the way,”
