Two left homeless after house fire in South Ockendon

ESSEX Firefighters were called to a house fire in Rosemary Close, South Ockendon this morning (Tuesday).

On arrival, fire crews reported that the ground floor of a mid-terraced property was completely alight and the entire first floor was smoke logged.

Firefighters worked hard to ensure the fire did not spread to any neighbouring properties and were able to extinguish it completely by 4.38am.

Unfortunately, the home has been left uninhabitable.

Two casualties were left in the care of the Ambulance Service. An investigation into the cause of the fire will now go ahead.
