REPORTS of the new park at the St Chads site in Tilbury not being cleaned have been addressed by the Council Leader.

Cllr Rob Gledhill, Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Housing said: “I had been made aware of a number of concerns about the St Chads site from block booking by London Council’s to the state of the park.

“I have double checked with officers on the block booking allegations and have been assured yet again they are false.

“The cleaning of the park is a different matter. The play equipment is part of the new estate and is the responsibility of the managing agent, Hera.

“I’m pleased that they now appear to be taking action to clear the area. On top of their normal litter picking schedule, they are arranging additional rounds from tomorrow (Wednesday 16 August). As with any other park I would ask residents think about others who want to use it, if not it will very quickly fall into disrepair.

“I have also been reassured that the site will be checked regularly going forward, with additional clean ups taking place when necessary.”
