A THURROCK football player has been sacked following an alleged threat to throw acid at opposition players following a match.
As reported earlier this week, Hertfordshire Police were called to Sawbridgeworth Town’s ground on Saturday afternoon following a report that a scuffle at the end of the game had been followed by a player going to the dressing room and returning with a recepticle which he claimed was full of acid and then threatening to throw it over players.
An investigation has been launched.
Now it appears that the Thurrock reserves manager sacked the player on Saturday night.
YT spoke to Thurrock chairman, Tommy South who said was told when he spoke to the coach on Tuesday.
YT has contacted Herts Police to establish whether they know this and to obtain an update on the investigation.
The player has not been named.
