
THURROCK Council’s crackdown against litter continues as several people have had fines up to £800 for dropping litter in the borough.
Infact a total of £7,862 worth of fines were imposed on just thirteen individuals who dropped a cigarette butt
Anthony Bayou, aged 28, of West Road, South Ockendon was fined £679 for the following:
On 08/02/2017 at Thurrock threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited litter, namely a cigarette and left it in outside Morrisons Car Park a place to which section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 applied.
Carlos De Costa, aged 31, of Bridge Road, Grays was fiend £703 for the following:
On 13/02/2017 at Thurrock threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited litter, namely a cigarette and left it in outside Pound City, High Street, Grays a place to which section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 applied.
Ann Harrington, aged 57, Elgar Gardens, Tilbury was fined £713 for the following:
On 10/02/2017 at Thurrock threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited litter, namely a cigarette and left it in outside Sense Charity Shop, High Street a place to which section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 applied.
Isabell Hollington, aged 58, of Romford Road, Aveley was fined £669 for the following:
On 10/02/2017 at High Street, Grays threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited litter, namely a cigarette and left it in outside Hannahs Bakery, High Street, Grays a place to which section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 applied.
Natalia Kaczmarek, aged 23, Sejant Road, Grays was fined £105 for the following:
On or about 09/12/2016 at Grays threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited litter, namely cigarette and left it in outside Saint Peter and Saint Paul Church, High Street, Grays, Essex a place to which section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 applied.
Hasan Kurt, aged 23, Leigh Road, Leigh on Sea was fined £673 for the following.

Aaron McGuire, aged 30, of Milton Road, Grays was fined £230 for the following.

Emily Prout, aged 21, of Dent Close, South Ockendon was fined £669 for the following.

They fine these people fordropping cigarette ends but do nothing about the travellers who in full view of the council fly tip on our open spaces.Q Why??
