Thurrock’s Muslim community celebrate Eid Festival

Eid Grays

THE local Muslim community celebrated Eid Festival with morning prayers in Grays. More than 800 people from across Thurrock including Mr. Qaisar Abbas (Thurrock Labour Party’s Ethnic Minorities Office and Group Observer) and Mr. Abul Khoyar (Chairman THH) attended the prayers.

Muslims across the world celebrate two Eids in one year; first marking the end of fasting month and second after two months and ten days of first Eid, honouring Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice.

The local Imam in his Eid sermon said “At this day of happiness, do not forget the poor in our society and treat everyone with due respect and dignity.”

At this occasion Mr. Abbas said “I wish you all a happy Eid. I urge you to support good causes and be an active part of this society.”
