Thurrock Council take man to court over state of house in Grays

A GRAYS resident is set to stand trial over the state of his house.

Kaur Kalwinder, of Kent Road, Grays has been charged with the following.

The case has been brought by Thurrock Council

On or about 22/05/2017 at Thurrock failed to comply with an operative improvement notice relating to a category 2 hazard, namely collapsed ceiling, damp, mould, holes in roof, structural cracks, no carpets on flooring and more, which had been served on you under section 12 of the Housing Act 2004, in that the required work was not completed and as a result an offence was committed.

On or about 22/05/2017 at Thurrock the defendant failed to comply with an operative improvement notice relating to a of the Housing Act 2004, in that the required work was not completed and as a result an offence was committed.

On or about 26th January 2017, being a person on whom a notice pursuant to s.16 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, dated 12th January 2017, was served, failed to comply with the requirements of the said notice.

Contrary to section 16(2)(a) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.

Kalwinder has pled not guilty.

Trial date has been set for October 23rd, at Southend magistrates court.
