Hundreds raised for Cardiothoracic centre at Barbershop night

TOTE barbershop quartet returned to Thurrock where they delighted their audience with their repertoire of classic and contemporary barbershop songs. Concert-goer, Mary said: “Thoroughly enjoyable, a great mix of voices; Great fun! Lovely fish supper!

The charity event took place in main hall, St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Grays.

Another happy guest Maria enthused: “It was a lovely community event, everybody came together, young and old to enjoy music and food. We were delighted to see the Mayor and his beautiful wife; Canon Brian O’Shea and Deacon David Pearce. Not only was it a wonderful event for us but it served a purpose in raising funds for the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.”

Event organiser Danielle Chinnon said: “I could not have wished for a more perfect evening, great entertainment, great food, a wonderful ambience and all for a very worthy cause.
“Thanks also to those local businesses who supported us in different ways.”

She continued, “The £625 we raised will go to support patients undergoing treatment at Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, Basildon Hospital.”
