RECENTLY, St. Luke’s Hospice has joined forces with up to 200 other hospices across the UK to celebrating the diverse range of people involved in providing and supporting hospice care. The theme for Hospice Care Week (9-15 October) is “We are hospice care.”
From nurses to volunteers, chefs to chaplains and corporate partners to carers, the awareness- raising week will celebrate the contribution of everyone involved in hospice care.
St. Luke’s Hospice highlighted their work in at the start of the week by launching a short film on social media.
The film featuring Hospice staff and professional actors was produced and donated completely free of charge to the Hospice by Ben and Tina business partners at ‘Electric Copper Films’.
The film poignantly follows the care journey of a young man and his family through Hospice services.
Tina explained ‘Every year we like to offer our services to a charity and were recommended to contact St. Luke’s Hospice by our NWES contact as a good organisation to work with. It was our pleasure to provide this promotional film for them, they do such an amazing job and provide a service that quite frankly is beyond most of us’’
Ben added “It was a fascinating process for us as a production company on how to handle the subject matter, our initial familiarisation visit was very informative and inspirational. As a piece of work we at Electric Copper Films are very proud of it, and we hope it can in a small way raise the general public awareness to the essential and incredible job that St Luke’s Hospice provides for those who need it.’’
Marilyn Debattista, from St. Luke’s Hospice said “We are delighted with the way Ben and Tina have portrayed our work and are very grateful for their support. They have provided us with a valuable resource which we hope will give greater understanding to the public and clinicians of what Hospice care is really about’’.
