Five charged over public order at unlawful camp in Lakeside

FIVE men have been charged following an unauthorised traveller encampment at a warehouse in Grays.

Around 100 people were moved on from the site in Weston Avenue on Monday, October 2.

Patrick Ward, 30, and Dylan McDonagh, 19, both unemployed and of Hunters Square, Dagenham; and Martin Lawrence, 32, unemployed, of Homerton Road, Hackney, were charged with trespass causing obstruction or disruption to lawful activity at the site.

Seamus Maughan, 24, unemployed, of Hunters Square, Dagenham, and Michael Lawrence, 33, unemployed, Winsor Terrace, Beckton, were charged with trespass causing obstruction or disruption to lawful activity at the site and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

They are all due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on December 7.
