THE hard work and achievements of students from Palmer’s College was celebrated at the annual Prize Giving Ceremony held on Friday 3 November 2017 at the Civic Hall in Grays.
The event celebrates the success of students for a variety of endeavours, including outstanding achievement in their exams, contributing to the cultural and social life of the college and work in the community.
The majority of prizes are provided by the William Palmer College Educational Trust, who generously give a huge amount each year to the students in prize money and help with financial assistance in other areas. This is a unique benefit that the College and its students are fortunate to have. There are also special prizes sponsored by individuals or local businesses with a current or past connection to the college, including F G Lang (Grays) Ltd, Rowland Hall Chartered Accountants, the AOFAC Foundation and the Hew Watt Family Charitable Fund, to name but a few, and we are very grateful to all our sponsors who support us so generously every year.
Dan Pearson, Principal of Palmer’s College said: “I would like to thank the Mayor Cllr Tunde Ojetola and our sponsors, as well as family and friends, for joining us in celebrating the outstanding achievements of our students, our annual prize giving is a great way to congratulate them on all their hard work. I would also like to pay special thanks to the William Palmer College Educational Trust for making this event possible and all the businesses and individuals who have sponsored prizes for our students.”
On arrival guests were entertained with a musical presentation by the BTEC Performing Arts students, before prize winner certificates were handed out by our guest speaker, Amy Kean, former student and now Vice President for Beamly, an in-house agency that sits within the big beauty powerhouse, Coty. Coty own brands worldwide such as Rimmel, Cover Girl and Max Factor.
