Grays High Street: Get to big Christmas lights switch on this Saturday

JOIN Tracyleanne Jefford and Stevi Ritchie for this year’s Love Grays Christmas Switch On Saturday 25 November – sponsored by NWES and Griffins Estate Agents.

With live music from local and national talent including stars from this years’ Voice Kids! Gina Li Donni, Courtney Hadwin and Erin Le Count on the main stage. There are also 3 other performance areas, Spoken Word at the bottom of the High Street, Thurrock Arts Collective in George Street and local bands outside Morrisons.

Stevi Ritchie and the cast from Thameside Theatres ‘Beauty and The Beast will join the Mayor of Thurrock & Tracie Young from Radio Essex for the actual switch on.

Stevi is the star of this year’s Thameside Theatre Panto, Beauty and the Beast. Stevi first appeared on our TV screens in ITV’s X Factor where he created a unique friendship with Simon Cowell and then Celebrity Big Brother where he took part with his fiancé Chloe Whichello.

Traceyleanne made it all the way to week two of this year’s X Factor. Her impressive performances in the early auditions meant the over 28s mentor, Nicole Scherzinger, took her through to the live finals.

The day-long festivities, brought to you by the Grays Town Management Partnership, also feature performances from the Grays Town Band, Thurrock Golden Voices, Chafford Voices, local artists: Anne-Marie Childs, James Quinn, Callum Cook, South East Essex College Musical Theatre course students, Ren Steadmen, Filo et Rebus, George Berry plus many more!

There will be Free Face painting, arts and crafts hosted by Thameside Theatre, as well as the chance to meet Father Christmas in Grays Shopping Centre. There is also a chance to win £500 with our Festive trail, by simply identifying the colours of baubles displayed at different locations in the High Street and shopping centre. To take part, pick up a brochure on the day from the main stage.

Activities start at 1.30pm in Grays Town Centre, with the switch on taking place at 6pm.

Beauty and the Beast is on at the Thameside Theatre from 1 December to 7 January. Tickets are available at thurrock.gov.uk/theatre
