IT WAS Black Friday in Thurrock shops and it was pretty black on Thurrock roads as the highways ground to a halt at Friday rush hour.
Both sides of the M25 were busy and roads around Lakeside from Purfleet to Chafford Hundred were grid-locked.
The Highways Agency were reporting that it was sheer volume of traffic.
“There are long delays on the #M25 anti-clockwise between J4 & Dartford Crossing. This is due to the shear volume of vehicles on the road, & is not due to any incidents. Please allow extra time for your journey should you be travelling in the area and intend to use the crossing”.
