Labour parliamentary candidate for Thurrock slams government over police funding

THE Labour candidate for Thurrock at the next parliamentary elections, John Kent has slammed the government over th flattest announcement on police funding.

John Kent said: “Since 2010, the Tories have made huge cuts to the police; 20,000 police officers have been lost and we have seen the result of that with rising crime, here in Thurrock and nationally, and the overstretched police are unable to respond to certain crimes.

“Today’s announcement will do little help. The government’s refusal to increase the Home Office grant funding for the police amounts to a real-terms cut whilst they are looking to push council tax bills up by the maximum allowed to find £270 million while police forces are expected to find another £100 million in savings.”

  1. The million dollar question. Will the next Labour Government increase Police funding and if so where will they get the money from? It’s no good whinging about something if you are not going to do anything about it. I hope someone is going to keep a list of everything John Kent complains about and how much it will cost the taxpayers so we can see how much the bill is going to be. Labour has a magic money tree somewhere that is going to make everything in the garden good and rosy.

  2. ED you are wrong. There is a money tree politicians have its the one
that bailedout the Bankers under New Labour and the Conservatives. its the one they use for WARS its the one that finances there personal expenses.

    THERE IS A MONEY TREE

  3. Oh come on now chaps….the money tree is the good old gullible British public…surely you know how it works by now??
    Let me remind you.
    1. Take the public for mugs, let them moan we know they will do nothing.
    2. Screw them over time & time again and watch them moan again and do even less.
    3. Line their own pockets with expenses, gold plated pensions etc that the moaning public
    wish they had too.
    4. Leave them just enough money to have a holiday in Spain and you got them on side cause most are happy with that.
