EAST Thurrock went into the festive period still in the promotion race after a victory against bottom club Whitehawk.
Goals by Sam Higgins (19′), Ryan Sammons (43′-’55’) and Tom Richardson (74′) secured all three points for the Rocks.
Whitehawk scored through Nathaniel Pinney (9′) and Gold Omotayo (83′).
The result leaves East Thurrock in ninth place, just two points off the play offs and five points off first place.
They return to league action on Boxing Day away at Concord Rangers.
