Lansdowne Primary work with Premier League programme

STAFF and pupils from Lansdowne Primary Academy have been working closely with the Premier League Stars Programme over the past year. The programme provides free lesson plans, activities and video content for boys and girls aged 5-11, and is designed to inspire learning in Maths, English, PE and PSHE. They have taken part in various competitions in order to receive special incentives and opportunities for their pupils.

Miss Joanne Dunne, Year 4 teacher, heard about Premier League Stars after taking the Year 6 boys team to a football tournament last year, and has used their resources in the classroom to inspire and engage the pupils in their learning.

Miss Dunne said, “There are many different competitions they run and I recently entered a competition to win a new football kit for our school, as we didn’t have one at the time. I didn’t think we would win but I received an email to say our school had been selected! When we unveiled it for the first time, I had a lump in my throat as I saw the children’s faces. They can now go to games and show off their new kit with pride. It might also be a lucky charm as we haven’t lost a game since wearing it!

“I would like to thank Adam Walker & Ross Williams from West Ham United, for coming into Lansdowne recently to spend the morning working with pupils in Year 5 with their writing.”
