Ockendon residents upset over Daiglen Drive roadworks

SOUTH OCKENDON residents are being kept awake by “noisy” roadworks taking place on Daiglen Drive.

In November, residents recieved correspondence detailing roadworks on Daiglen Drive and Arisdale Avenue between Wednesday Janaury 17th and Sunday January 21st.

Residents didn’t think too much about it until they began.

Cam Green resident Simone Drum said: “We all accept roadworks need to be done but the noise has been horrendous.

“When they began on Wednesday night, it took until midnight for my little boy to get to sleep.

“If residents made this much noise, the police and/or council would be round like a shot.

“The kango hammer noise was unbelievable.”

Ockendon councillor Chris Baker (Ukip) has told YT that he has been speaking to residents and will be taking the matter to the council bosses.

YT sent a number of questions to Thurrock Council but they had not replied at the time of publication.
