New year cheer for East Tilbury Primary

AN East Tilbury school is celebrating after scooping a donation from a leading housebuilder.

The money has come from Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative, which has donated more than 1.5m to good causes since its launch in March 2015.

Persimmon Homes Essex is currently building homes across Essex, including The Boulevards – Bata Fields, in East Tilbury, providing a stunning selection homes to suit a wide range of buyers.

Phil Standen, managing director at Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “We strongly believe in supporting the communities where we build. Therefore, we are delighted to be able to support East Tilbury Primary in this way and help local youngsters and the surrounding community to have access to such a fantastic facility.”

Alison Daniel, spokeswoman for the school, said: “The children and their parents really appreciate Persimmon Homes’ support, as we aim to improve our school’s facilities. We are raising money for a very special project within the school. The planned AstroTurf court will provide a safe and secure space for students and the community alike, as it will be available for use outside school hours.

“It will help us to promote a healthy school ethos and we’re very proud to have been selected as one of Persimmon Homes Essex’s Community Champions.”
Persimmon Homes Community Champions provides financial support to deserving organisations across the region.
