AT the weekend the 14 volunteers collected another 56 sacks of rubbish including at least 222 single use drink bottles from the beach area of Grays.
This takes the total picked on the northern foreshore of the Estuary since last September to 1,177 sacks including 12,421 bottles.
The next pick will be in Tilbury this Saturday 17th March at 10:00 until 13:00 – looking forward to meeting you in the Worlds End Pub car park near Tilbury Fort.
Equipment will be provided.
A spokeserson said: “I am sure you have seen the Blue Planet series on TV and therefore understand why you need to help get the rubbish off the foreshore before it gets washed back into the river and out into the oceans.
“While the politicians continue talking about the problem, please become part of the solution by joining us to make a real difference on Saturday morning”.
