THE article on the Orsett Hospital consultation was the first to be published under the new BBC Local Democracy Reporters Scheme.
Under the scheme, the BBC provide a reporter to cover council meetings. In Thurrock that covers the committees, cabinet and full council.
We also benefit from a lot of the research that the BBC undertakes.
YT is only one of ten hyperlocal newspapers to benefit from the scheme.
