THE Thurrock Independent Party is set to field a candidate in every ward in the local elections in Thurrock.
Nominations closed on Friday afternoon.
The elections take place on Thursday May 3rd.
Elections take place in every ward except Chafford Hundred and North Stifford, Stanford West, Corringham and Fobbing and East Tilbury
Thurrock Independents Party Leader, Cllr Graham Snell said: “Thurrock Independents are pleased to announce that we are standing in all of the 16 wards in the upcoming local elections. This will give all Thurrock residents voting on the 3rd May an opportunity to vote for councillors who put the needs of Thurrock residents before the demands of Westminster political parties.
“All of our five Councillors that are up for election this year are re-standing, alongside 11 other candidates. We have only been a political party for 70 days and in that time we have seen our support grow across Thurrock.
“It is set to be an exciting election campaign where we can put our case to residents on improving the environment in Thurrock, cutting Council Tax and prioritising new housing for Thurrock residents. Thurrock Independents thoroughly reject angry, Punch and Judy politics that has blighted the British political scene for too long. We will always listen to residents and tell them what we can do for them rather than what others can’t. We have a positive, optimistic and upbeat vision to improve Thurrock for all”.
