Thurrock Lions receives highest award at annual dinner

AT their recent annual dinner and dance, Thurrock Lions presented the highest Lions achievement award, the Melvin Jones Award, to two of their long standing members. This is the first time that Thurrock Lions have presented this award to their members. There are only approx. 350 people in the world that hold such an honour.

Lion President Brent Allen and Lion David Stubbs were given the award by Lions District Governor Lion Derek Prior. Brent and David have both been members since the 1970s and have given over forty years of service to the community.

Both have stood as president during their years in service.

A spokeserson said: “We thank them both for their selfless commitment and all the hard work they put in to help the less needy of our borough”.
