Burglar grabs 75-year-old woman by throat in attack in Stanford-le-Hope

ESSEX Police are investigating an aggravated burglary in which a woman was assaulted.

A man forced entry to a home in Corringham Road, Stanford-le-Hope, at 10.45am on Thursday, May 17.

He grabbed the 69-year-old occupant by the throat and she banged her head during the struggle.

The suspect ran off when a neighbour was alerted.

He was described as being around 5ft 6ins tall to 5ft 7ins tall, with a tanned complexion, and wore a grey hooded top.

Officers carried out a search of the area and enquiries are ongoing to locate the suspect.

The victim was uninjured.
