SEVEN people were arrested, more than 570 people were found not to be wearing seatbelts, nearly 100 drivers were caught using their phones, and an elderly man had his licence revoked after failing an eye test during a series of road policing operations across Essex.
Officers carried out the operations in Tilbury and Stansted on June 1, Southend on June 4, Waltham Abbey on June 5, and Cowdrey Avenue in Colchester and the A12 on June 6.
The results of the operation in Tilbury is as follows:
Tilbury – Friday, June 1:
Two people arrested on suspicion of drug driving;
15 drivers with no insurance and vehicles seized;
Five people driving without the relevant licence;
110 people not wearing seatbelts;
23 drivers using their mobile phones;
22 vehicles with no MOT;
Five other offences.
