WE COULD not help notice that Aveley FC have been dipping into the transfer market as well as welcoming back key players.

So, we thought we would have a little round-up but go to for fun details.

Aveley Football Club are delighted to announce the re-signing of striker Tony Martin.

We are delighted to announce that Tony Martin has re-signed ahead of the coming 2018/19 season.

At the end of January 2018 we announced the arrival of Tony Martin from Bostik South side VCD Athletic and went on to score two goals from 12 appearances five from the bench.

The Millers faithful will remember Tony for his brilliant goal against Romford and his header on the last game of the season against Mildenhall Town helping the Millers finish 14th.

Before Tony joined VCD Athletic, he played for our local rivals Tilbury where he scored 24 goals in 47 appearances in the 2015/16 season, and was involved in 10 goals in 23 games in 2016/17.

James Webster on the signing of Tony Martin. “It’s a shame as last season finished as Tony started to kick on.

“I am confident if we get the ball in the right area Tony will get his fair share of goals.”

Aveley Football Club are delighted to announce midfielder Garrett Kelly has re-signed for the upcoming 2018/19 season.

We are delighted to announce the signing of Garrett Kelly who has committed to the Millers after a tremendous end to last season.

Garrett, 22, joined us midway through last season after previously playing for Barkingside in the Essex Senior League and fellow Bostik North side Romford.

He came to our management teams attention whilst playing for Romford against Maldon & Tiptree in an Essex County Cup tie and we acted to bring Garrett to the club.

He’s another player who graduated through the Brentwood Town youth set up like a few of the signings made ahead of next season.

Garrett’s boundless energy and fine technique makes him a great asset to the football club.

Millers Boss James Webster expects big things from Garrett this season. “I feel like Garrett is a very underrated player who really shone at the tail end of the season.

“I am expecting big things from him this season.”

Aveley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Andy Freeman from Concord Rangers.

We are delighted to announce that Andy Freeman has joined the Millers after a recent spell with Conference South side Concord Rangers.

Before the spell with Concord Rangers, which saw him jump up two divisions, he played for Brentwood Town for all his career.

Like a few of the guys announced they have all had experience in promotion as Andy was also a member of the Brentwood Town side who won promotion via the playoffs. Much like Shad Ngandu, Tom Richardson and Connor Witherspoon who have already been announced.

He is 21 years old and is a player with fantastic potential who is sure to be popular with the Aveley fans.

Millers Boss James Webster on the signing of Andy Freeman. “I’m really excited to get this deal over the line. He’s another player who I’ve had on my radar for a year or so.

Aveley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of James Love from Brightlingse Regent.

We are delighted to announce the signing of versatile player James Love or ‘Luvvey’ from Bostik Premier League side Brightlingsea Regent, where James opted to re-join former manager James Webster at Parkside.

He is joining the Millers on the back of a fantastic season for Brightlingsea in the Bostik Premier and he was awarded players’ player of the season which just shows what type of player we have joining us at Parkside for the upcoming 2018/19 season.

Love, 26, in his time in senior football he has played every single position. He started his career in the youth system at Brentwood Town where he made his first team debut at just the age of 17. He was a key component in the Brentwood team that gained promotion to the Bostik Premier Division a few years back.

Luvey has also represented Heybridge Swifts, Chelmsford City, AFC Hornchurch and as mentioned above Brightlingsea Regent who he joined after a spell playing for Australian outfit Stratford Dolphins. His all action style is sure to go down well with the growing Millers faithful!

Millers Boss James Webster had this to say on capturing James Love. “I’m really pleased to get Luvey at Parkside, over the course of the coming season his fantastic versatility will prove to be a major asset.”

We are delighted to welcome Shad to Parkside who has signed from Waltham Abbey. The 23 year-old joins after a fantastic season for the Abbey scoring 20 goals from midfield in 47 appearances.

Along with Connor Witherspoon he is another player who has come through the Brentwood Town youth set-up, and he was given his first team debut at the age of 17 by Connor’s Dad Steve Witherspoon. And Shad is another member of the squad who gained promotion to the Premier Division via the playoffs.

Football runs through Shad’s family as he is the cousin of Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga.

His superb eye for a pass and for a goal is sure to come to the fore over the coming season.

James Webster revealed how he’s tried to sign Shad a few times but finally has his man. “I have tried to sign Shad on two previous occasions, once when I was at Brightlingsea and then when I took the job here in October, so it is great to finally get my man.

“His ability to score goals and open up defences with his eye for a pass will definitely be a factor if we are to be successful this season.”
