Sarah to brave shave in support of friend

A Learning Mentor at South Essex College is having her head shaved to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Sarah Jee, who works at the College’s Southend Campus, is losing her locks to support a close friend of 34 years who has recently been diagnosed with primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL).

She will ‘Brave the Shave’ on Monday 16 July with the aim of raising as much money as possible for charity.

Sarah said she was ready for the challenge.

She said: “Nobody was really that surprised when I said I was going to do it. I’m quite an outgoing person and will give most things a go, especially when it’s something that is very close to me. I met Jane 34 years ago when we moved next door to her family and we have been best friends ever since.”

Sarah said she will embrace her new look and is looking forward to experimenting with different coloured hair spray to give herself a new look each day.
