THE GRAYS Beachcombers have certainly been out in all weather including the sizzling summer heatwave.
Last Sunday, thirteen of them filled 34 sacks with rubbish from the foreshore in Grays including 514 plastic single use drinks bottles, a bike and even a chair.
Well done to the team.
The task ongoing is to continue keeping on top of the plastic that is still finding its way onto the foreshores and (if not removed) into the oceans.
Dates of future litter picks for your diary:
Sunday 2nd September – meeting at Grays Yacht Club at 10:30 to 12:00 followed by free bacon rolls in the café.
Saturday 15th September – meeting at Concrete Barges, Coldharbour Lane, Rainham from 10:00 to 13:00.
