THE new play equipment is designed especially for the park and fits in with the surroundings. Visitors will see beautifully handmade and crafted features, although we suspect the children who visit will simply see the opportunity to play and let their imaginations run wild.
Cabinet Member for Environment and Waste, Councillor Simon Walsh joined the Country Parks team for the official opening and said: “I’m very proud to be involved in the opening of the new play area at Belhus Woods. On such a glorious day it was marvellous to listen to the sound of the families putting the new play area to good use. The park itself is beautiful and a great space for its diverse range of visitors – families, dog walkers, runners to name a few.
“We’re very lucky as the park combines ancient woodland, working wood, flower meadows, fishing and conservation lakes, so there is something for everyone. With the opening of the play area we hope even more families will support the park and come and visit.”
Belhus Woods is also one of the Essex Country Parks which recently retained its Green Flag award. The Green Flag awards recognise spaces that boast the highest possible environmental standards and that are beautifully maintained.
Don’t take our word for it – go and see for yourself how amazing Belhus Woods is. Why not plan a visit soon and escape to the parks. Find out more or keep in touch at visitparks.co.uk

Simon Walsh – please send in a picture of this lovely play equipment after 3 & 6 months when they have set fire to it, trashed it and we have to pay for another lot.
